TEFCOLD Marks 10th Acquisition with Purchase of Clima Hosteleria's HoReCa Business

The TEFCOLD group is expanding! The commercial refrigeration group nearly doubles its market share in Spain and Portugal — and strengthens its position as a supplier in each market it serves worldwide.

VIBORG, Denmark / BADAJOZ, Spain — 1 July 2026 — Earlier this week, TEFCOLD's owner travelled to Barcelona to sign an agreement bringing another company into the TEFCOLD Group: Clima Hosteleria, headquartered in Badajoz, close to the Portuguese border. Effective 1 July 2026, TEFCOLD has acquired the HoReCa-related business assets of Clima Hosteleria — the 10th acquisition in the TEFCOLD Group since 2018.

The deal significantly strengthens TEFCOLD's position in Spain and Portugal, Iberia, and establishes the group as a leading supplier of commercial plug-in refrigeration on the Iberian Peninsula.

"The Spanish market is the fourth-largest market in Europe, and our market share has not been where we want it to be," says Torben L. Christensen, Chairman and majority owner of TEFCOLD Group. "That is why we chose to find a company that compliments our position in the market, so that we almost double our market share in one move."

Clima Hosteleria has built a strong position in the Spanish HoReCa market, supplying both commercial refrigeration and a broad range of hospitality equipment. The company brings 22 employees into the TEFCOLD Group, bringing TEFCOLD's total headcount across Spain and Portugal to 55. With the acquisition, TEFCOLD gains a sales force that effectively covers all of Spain and Portugal.

Founded in 2011 by Nacho Rodrigues and Francisco Lara, Clima Hosteleria has grown into a respected player within the Spanish HoReCa sector over the past fifteen years.

While the acquisition's most visible impact is in Spain and Portugal, its significance reaches well beyond the Iberian Peninsula. Beyond strengthening TEFCOLD's ability to serve customers in Spain and Portugal, the addition of Clima Hosteleria also makes TEFCOLD a stronger supplier in all of its other markets: the deal expands TEFCOLD's product assortment and deepens its relationships with manufacturers, assets the whole group can draw on — not just its Iberian operations.

The acquisition follows TEFCOLD's successful integration of Horeca Global Solutions, acquired in 2024.

The acquisition takes effect on 1 July 2026 and will therefore not affect the financial results TEFCOLD has just closed.
